Whether we should call this a ferry for the purposes of this website is debatable. But the large ferry sails across the North Sea to Newcastle in northern England. There are two ferries operating. Both operate at night and are docked during the day. One day, one boat is in IJmuiden and the other in Newcastle, and the next day, it's the other way around.

Over the years, several DFDS Seaways ferries have operated this ferry service. Below are a photo of two of them.
